Precision haircutting means the exact shape and technique used. This can mean a perfect fringe or an A-Line bob with almost no imperfections. My sister wanted to learn this technique…and fast!

My sister is a professional hairstylist, currently working in California. She also bakes the best pastries that you will ever taste. Here is her instagram.

This is the “Conscious Confidence” learning path we developed together so she would be advertising precision haircuts in 30 days.

Trisa’s Learning Path to 3 Precision Haircuts in 30 days (April 2018)

1. Write an Article and Post it by March 16th

Write an article about Precision Haircutting and post it someplace where others can read it (your blog, Facebook, LinkedIn). You don’t have to write it as an “expert”. Write the article from your present proficiency level. Here’s an example of one: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-precision-cutting-why-important-benefits-angel-lucianna-vesna/

2. Teach Precision Haircutting to someone else by March 23rd

Invite one of our siblings or one of your friends over to the house (or the salon if possible) and teach them how to do precision haircutting.

They don’t have to be aspiring hairstylists to participate!

Use dolls, buy cheap wigs or used wigs for them to learn on. The purpose of teaching others is not so they can learn. The purpose of this exercise is to validate what you know, identify areas of unknowing (for you) and to give you a concrete idea of where you feel and see that additional knowledge and practice are needed. After you teach them, you demonstrate it to them and let them ask questions and give you feedback.

3. Perform free Precision Haircuts by April 2nd

The concept is a one-for-one donation allowing your current clients to directly support someone they know or someone less fortunate at your local homeless shelter, women’s shelter, assisted living facility, etc. You and your clients “give back” while you also hone your precision haircutting skill and making connections.

You can also just offer haircuts for free in these organizations, in your home, or in the salon without sponsorship from your clients.

**Co Edwards, Volunteer Coordinator for the Tulsa Day Center is standing by for a phone call to have you come in to give the residents haircuts.

It isn’t the haircut that is most important here — it’s your confidence in saying, “These are the limits of my skills. Are you okay with a haircut that may not go as planned?” Show them pictures of your past work, get their consent, and unapologetically cut his or her hair.
