An Enlightened Look at Cyber Security
Security is the feeling and state of being free from harm. To be secure is to be empowered to act. — Cheryl Abram
Natural disasters are inevitable, and the economic, human, and social impacts can be enormous, if not deadly. So it’s imperative that representatives all around the globe share the responsibility to prepare for the onslaught of any threat or hazard.
This requires global awareness, global sharing and action to get out ahead of the problem, prepare for a wide range of potential challenges, and ensure that protective actions and defensive measures can be sustained in wave after wave of potential disasters.
Breaches to security are also inevitable in the physical and digital world. And they can have the same enormous economic, human and societal impacts as natural disasters.
For this reason, it’s past time to rethink our cybersecurity beliefs and strategies to ensure they are built on resiliency and the twin pillars of preparedness and sustainability.
Evidence of security is not firewalls, encryption, gates or locks.
Evidence of security is your ability to live a safe and secure life on and off line.
Security empowers us to be free to work, raise our families and live our lives…both in the physical world and in cyberspace.
Evidence of security is seen in these photos. Think about what you do and how you feel when you are, and feel, secure.
